The Carillon Club Story
We give young sporting people a lift through funding and acknowledging their achievements
WHO WE ARE
The Carillon Club was formed in 1994 by a group of sports-minded Wellingtonians. Our objective is to support talented young sportspeople in our region and give them every encouragement to advance their sporting careers and achievements.
Members of the Carillon Club are proud of Wellington's sporting history, but believe that the best is yet to come. It is important to us that our home-grown talent remains in the Wellington region to build on history and take it to another level. We can give our local talent a lift through funding and recognition of their achievements.
The Club is run by an Executive Committee the Members of which donate their time and energy. DB Breweries has supported the Club from our first days, kindly providing administration assistance for the committee and support for our fundraising functions.

WHO WE SUPPORT
The Carillon Club is an all-sports body. In our earlier years we've supported young achievers in over 20 sports, and we'll continue to support talented performers regardless of their sport.
As a priority we will support young people who have represented New Zealand in their sport. But we are also keen to offer support to athletes who may be on the edge of national honours. It is important that athletes demonstrate that the support they need relates directly to their sporting endeavours.

Testimonials
Emma Robinson - Swimming
"I recently applied for funding to assist with attending Swimming NZ's High Altitude camp in Flagstaff, Arizona. This camp was specifically targeted to assist the swimmers in qualifying for the 2014 Commonwealth Games. I am thrilled to announced I have qualified for the Commonwealth Games team in the 4 x 200 freestyle relay and would like to thank you for your assistance."
Shalae Salmon - Basketball
"On behalf of my daughter Shalae Salmon, I would like to give a report of her trip to Adelaide, representing New Zealand in the U18 Women's Basketball Team.
At 6ft 3in, Shalae was the starting center for the team. Like typical Australian teams, the games were physical and fast paced. Shalae was a dominant force in the key hole, with her size and presence. In one game she got double double, which is double figures in rebounds and scoring points (18 points, 13 rebounds). Being one of the youngest players on the team, and playing against older girls, she was able to gain experience and exposure to a high level of basketball. From the 8 games played, they won 4 and lost 4.
We would like to thank the Carillon Club for your financial assistance. It has given Shalae this opportunity to play at a high international level of a sport she's passionate about. It has given her more incentive to set goals to one day in the future play for the New Zealand Women's Tall Ferns Basketball Team. Much appreciated." Melody & Shalae Salmon

Christy Robinson - Tennis
Dear Bryan, I thought you would like to hear Christy's latest tennis success. On 18 April to 20 April, Christy competed in the Waikato Junior Open 16s Girls singles. She was seeded number 1 out of a main draw of 37. Christy was the winner of the 16s girls.
On 23 April to 25 April, Christy competed in the Wellington Technifibre Junior Open. Again Christy was seeded number 1 out of a main draw of 25. Christy was the winner of the 16s girls. We are very proud of Christy for winning both these tournaments.
With the generosity of the Carillon Club's recent grant, Christy put the money towards the purchase of much needed new Babolat tennis rackets purchased from the Pro Shop at the Wellington Renouf Centre.
Kind regards, Tracy Robinson
